Space Rental
The Church of Squaw Valley is available to rent for meetings, social or community events.
Our Church was built for the 1960 Winter Olympics. It is a historic, unique
and beautiful space nestled in the woods in the heart of Squaw Valley, surrounded
by the majestic Sierra.
Our sanctuary seats up to 120 people for events, with comfortable upholstered
chairs that provide flexible seating arrangements. Our curved roof, called a
hyperbolic parabola, creates perfect acoustics, making it a great space for concerts
and musical events. A beautiful wall of stained glass looks directly out onto
the mountains beyond, adding to the sacredness of the space. This masterpiece
was created by a Bay Area artist, using 9,000 pieces of colored glass bonded
onto clear-glass windows representing the four seasons.
Our Memorial Garden includes a beautiful outdoor deck and lawn accommodating
up to 200 people for various events. The centerpiece of the garden is an beautiful
40-foot stainless-steel, three-dimensional sculptured cross. The lawn is dotted
with pines, and the entire garden is surrounded by a stream, adding serenity
with the sounds of flowing water.
Other areas include a tiled entry hall, and Lodge Room, accommodating receptions
or events for up to 50 people seated, or 100 people standing. Our Lodge room
contains a beautiful watercolor exhibit by one of our members, and could be used
as gallery space for other art exhibits or openings. The Lodge Room is available
for meetings and events such as yoga.
Our large renovated kitchen is included in the facility rental. There is also
a large barbeque grill available outside, perfect for picnics or family reunions.
We also have many, six-foot tables and about 100 folding and other plastic chairs
available for use indoors or outdoors.
Our women’s and men’s bathrooms are newly renovated and have two
sinks and stalls and a shower in each (for overnight retreat groups).
